Honey I'm Home Too

Finally after a week, we are going to all be a family. We will be known as "Perez Party of 8" Dr. Al called us this morning at 8am to tell us to come get Cooper and Casen. I never thought this would ever happen. So we headed up to Women's Hospital and brought them home to join the rest of the family.

Here are pics of their homecoming!

Another Set BACK

Yet another setback. Just when we thought we were going to be able to bring home the boys we had another setback. I got a call from Dr. Al he said that Casen had thrown up and he was concerned about he color of the throw up. I know to much information, but that is what caused the setback. So as upset as we are to have to wait, we know it is what is best for him. Cooper is doing good just trying to get him to his 5 days of no A& B' s so he can come home. So we just wait.

Ella and Cole are doing so good. We are starting to settle in at home with them in a schedule. Of course that may change once the other two are home.

Back and forth

We have been back and forth between here at home with Ella and Cole, and up at the hospital with Cooper and Casen. Just when you think they are coming home Cooper and Casen decide to have an A & B. So, what does that mean, well...... they have to be 5 days free of A&B's before they can come home. So now we wait. Boy, you really learn your level of patience in the NICU.

Honey, I'm Home!!!!!!!

I never thought I would hear these words said to me in the NICU, but we got to the hospital today, and Melissa the babies primary nurse was filling out all of this paperwork. And of course after having so many setbacks, I was afraid to ask if it was discharge papers. Sometime later Dr. Al came up and said you can take Ella and COle home today. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no going home outfits, and mom, Ashley, Nana, Chelsea and Heather were all scheduled for CPR today, so we decided that I would stay at the hospital and everyone would come up and bring me the outfits and camera. So that was our plan, and it worked out just fine. We fed both of the babies and got them dressed to break out of the NICU. After signing paperwork and checking ID's (uh hello we have only been in the NICu everyday for 2 mos, and you are checking to see if I am the parent) We were loaded up and heading out. Just as I was fixing to turn and go out the door, I look over to my right and there sits Casen and Cooper. How can you be so happy to take two home, and yet be so overcome with sadness to leave two behind. I think this was harder to me than the first few days in the NICU. We said our good-byes to the NICU with COle and Ella, and told the boys we would be back to see them tomorrow. Off we went.

The first night was not too bad they were not wanting to wake every 3 hrs like they were at the hospital, so we let them sleep 4, but that was it. I can't tell you how good it feels to finally have babies at home, I will be so glad when the other two come home. Hopefully, not too much longer.

Blood Tranfusions :(

Dr. Al had told us that we could take the babies home on the 2nd, we were sooooo excited, only to be short lived. He called us that morning to tell us that Ella and COle were going to need a blood transfusion, which don't get me wrong of course I would rather them do it, than get them home and they have to go back to the hospital. I was so sad, I cried all day, which is not like me. I guess I just really had my hopes set on them going home, only to be told not today. I know, I know it won't be long before they are home. We will see what tomorrow brings. I have decided however, not to ask when they are coming home, just to let them tell us. So that will be my plan.

2 months old

Ella
Cooper
Casen
Cole

Wow how time flies!!!! I can't believe that it has already been 2 mos since the babies were born. Now the real fun is fixing to begin. Ella has passed her car seat test today, she failed it yesterday. So, they said as long as her blood work and no A's & B's she can come home tomorrow on the 2nd. Cole is waiting to do his car seat test, so we will be taking his carseat in tomorrow, and if he passes then he will be on his way home as well. Coooper came out of his isolette yestrday and is having his sleep study done tonight. Casen had his done on Friday and we are waiting for his results. THey also think that Casen has a hernia, so they are going to have a surgeon come in and take a look at it. If he does have one they will wait until he is 3mos old to do surgery. So we need to have Cole, Cooper and Casen do carseat tests and no A's and B's to be able to come home. Oh yeah, for all of you who bought us diapers I really want to thank you, because I have been told by the nurses that my children are serious poopers. I got to see that for myself here lately.
